Description
The 2025 Thunderstone Chardonnay is bright, tight yet fragrant with grapefruit, melon, Geraldton wax, almond and fresh sea spray. The cooler year has presented with focused upfront fruit power flanked by briny citrus acidity and minerality. Layers of toasted almond, brioche and oyster shell regionality gradually uncoil, but kept fresh and bright by the driving long acidity. This is a great wine for sashimi and umami flavours.

The 2025 vintage was a cool and dry year more typical of the region than the early ripening 2024. Crop levels were moderate allowing great concentration of fruit flavours with the long ripening process preserving acidity and freshness. The dry season also kept the berry size small which concentrated flavour and acid.
- Vineyard Notes
The vineyard we have chosen is a wonderful mix of beautiful dirts, vine age and dedicated management. Owned and worked by those who micro-manage the vines, not one leaf, cane or berry is out of place or substandard. Low cropping (2-4t/ha) really allows the terroir to shine.
- Winemaking
Handpicked and whole bunch pressed direct to French oak puncheons (500L, 50% new), the whole juice was wild fermented and aged on lees for ten months before minimal SO2 was added. Malo-lactic fermentation is neither encouraged nor resisted. Bottled in early February 2026.
